Help Make a Difference Community Partnerships

Thanks to the support of our community we have several partnerships that help us reduce the number of homeless cats.

Coin

The Coins Offered to Increase Neuters (COIN) program allows Feral Cat Spay/Neuter Project to place donation boxes and brochures at businesses for collecting monetary donations. Each location has a volunteer coin can monitor who collects the money and forwards it to FCSNP. In 2006, COIN brought in over $8,000 in donations.

If you are a business who would like to be a part of the COIN program, or if you are a volunteer and know a location where one of our boxes can be placed, please email our coin box captain at coin@feralcatproject.org.

THANK YOU to all of the businesses that support the COIN program.

The Great Cat Rescue

The Great Cat Rescue is a collaboration between FCSNP, King County Animal Services Link Opens in a New Window, and the PetSmart Issaquah Store Adoption Center Link Opens in a New Window. Volunteers of Feral Cat Spay/Neuter Project rescue adoptable but “at risk” cats from the King County Animal Shelter in Kent and place them into adoption at the PetSmart store in Issaquah.

Cats selected for The Great Rescue have been at the shelter for an extended period and been passed over for adoption. We give them a new chance in Issaquah. Only a finite number of cages are available at the King County shelter, thus, removing cats for rescue and adoption elsewhere opens cages for new incoming cats.

Also, increasing shelter space for cats may make the difference between a scared cat showing feral behavior and being deemed unadoptable or allowing the frightened cat more time to acclimate, calm down, show its social character and receive a chance for adoption.

If you are looking to expand your cat family, please consider adopting a cat through the Great Cat Rescue. To see the cats currently available for adoption, visit PetFinders.comLink Opens in a New Window.
